Manchester United defender Raphael Varane limped off injured in the UEFA Nations League final against Spain on Sunday, MySportDab reports.

Varane stretched his stride and cut out a cross from Gavi to result in a corner five minutes before half-time.

The French centre-half signalled to the bench immediately and was seen on the floor asking for treatment.

France Coach Didier Deschamps replaced him with Dayot Upamecano.

Despite the injury, it showed the depth of quality that France have in different positions.

United will be very concerned about the extent of Varane’s injury, given he had to put ice strapped on his right quad.

According to MySportDab sources, Raphael Varane likely suffered an adductor tear during the Nations League match.

He could be out for at least two weeks depending on the severity of the injury.

Should it be a serious injury, the Red Devils will be without both first choice defenders Raphael Varane and Maguire to face Leicester City.

So, Eric Bailly is likely to start at the weekend alongside Victor Lindelof in the Manchester United defence.

The injury is a massive blow to the club ahead of a difficult run of fixtures across of competitions.

Since Varane joined in the summer, he has only played seven matches for the Red Devils.
