Chelsea thrashed Newcastle United 0-3 in the English Premier League as Reece James scored a brace for the Blues, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It wasn’t so much fun in the first half as both teams had so many opportunities but couldn’t make any of them count.
Chelsea was dominant with the ball possession which is always theirs for the taken as they continued to push for the opening goal.
Hakim Ziyech’s goal was ruled out after scoring in the 29th minute of the first half which VAR had to check and later confirmed no goal.
Newcastle United was relieved as the pressure continued on them but they always had an answer to make sure nothing went past them.
The first half of the encounter ended with Newcastle United 0-0 Chelsea which saw them both heading inside for the break without a goal.
Second Half Report
A good start in the second half for Chelsea who remained dominant against Newcastle United who was the less good between them both.
Things continued with the scoreline still on 0-0 as the opportunities kept on coming from both ends but nothing changed despite all the close caught chances.
A goal finally came in the 64th minute of the second half, thanks to Reece James’ outstanding long-range finishing which saw his side taking a 0-1 lead.
The match progressed with Reece James getting a brace in the 77th minute as he reacted first to a loose ball which he smashed home for the second and a 0-2 advantage.
It was all good as the Blues continued making sure the game didn’t get out of their control which more opportunities were still created on goal as it carried on forward.
Jorginho made it 0-3 in the 81st minutes of the second half which he scored from the penalty spot to increase the lead as the game entered the final stages.
The match finished with Newcastle United 0-3 Chelsea which saw the Blues taking all three points which moves them clear of the league top of the table.
