Erling Haaland mark his return from injury with a brace as Borussia Dortmund beat Mainz 05 3-1 in the German Bundesliga, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half of the encounter wasn’t that bad as one goal was scored between the two teams who had so much to offer.
Borussia Dortmund opened the goal scoring in the 3rd minutes thanks to Marco Reus who made things 1-0 after reacting first to a loosed ball which gave them the advantage.
Mainz 05 tightened up their defense after the opener which saw them making sure nothing went past them as they pushed forward hoping to get a leveler which didn’t come.
Nothing could separate them as the first half of the encounter progressed with more opportunities created but all was wasted.
The first half of the match ended with Borussia Dortmund taking a 1-0 advantage into the break against Mainz 05 after an amazing 45 minutes.
Second Half Report
It was a different second 45 minutes which saw more goals being scored as both sides found the back of the net going forward.
Mainz 05 once again committed an error which lead to them fouled and their opponent awarded a penalty which Erling Haaland converted in the 54th minute to make the scoreline 2-0.
It was looking all good for no Borussia Dortmund who remained the better of both teams as the game continued with more pressure coming from them as it progresses.
The match progressed into the last few minutes of play as Burkardt pulled one back to make the scoreline 2-1 in the 87th minute after a good display of football saw them score.
Erling Haaland scored a stunner in the 94th minute of the game after a good team effort with Jude Bellingham who provide the assist to make the scoreline 3-1.
The match finally came to an end with Borussia Dortmund sealing a 3-1 win against Mainz 05 to continue their impressive form so far this season.
