Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late winner as Man United came from behind to beat Villarreal 2-1 in the Champions League, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

Both teams gave a good account of themselves in the first half despite no goals coming from the two ends within 45 minutes.

Villarreal put up a good wall which didn’t allow any player in red penetrate inside to cause any damage as the match carried on.

It was Man United who did more of the pressing going forward as they continued to operate in all direction but couldn’t find a way to score the opening goal.

Nothing could change the scoreline which remained goalless with more opportunities continue to come for both teams.

The first half came to an end with Man United being held to a goalless draw against Villarreal while heading for the break.

Second Half Report

The second half was where all the action happened as it came alive with both teams finding the back of the net going forward.

Villarreal took the lead in the 53rd minute of the game through Paco Alcacer who converted neatly after a good buildup saw him giving his side a 0-1 lead.

It was looking so bad for Man United who continued to push further but nothing was able to come out despite all their efforts going forward.

Alex Telles was able to level things for Manchester in the 60th minute of the match after an outstanding finish from the wing back who made the scoreline 1-1.

Nothing could separate them as the game opened up with both teams giving it a go which didn’t see them scoring from their opportunities.

Man United Villarreal

A moment of brilliance saw Jesse Lingard assisted Cristiano Ronaldo who converted neatly in the 95th minute to give the Red Devils a 2-1 lead from a perfect finish.

The game ended with the Portuguese receiving a yellow card for his celebration as the encounter finished with Man United 2-1 Villarreal as the home side claimed 3 points.
