David de Gea saved a late penalty for Manchester United in the Premier League match against West Ham, MySportDab reports.

De Gea finally ended his penalty curse after saving Mark Noble’s attempt in Manchester United’s 2-1 win against West Ham on Sunday.

De Gea is known for failing to stop penalties over the past few years.

But after Luke Shaw committed a foul in the penalty area in second-half stoppage time, West Ham were given a penalty.

De Gea saved the penalty by diving low to his left to keep Noble’s effort out and seal all three points for the Red Devils.

Before yesterday’s West Ham match, De Gea had not saved a penalty since April 2016.

His last penalty save was in the FA Cup semi-final against then former Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

De Gea’s last penalty save in open play came last in October 2014 in a match against Everton.

His poor penalty record lead to concerns over the 30-year-old’s ability and fans believe Dean Henderson should take over the No 1 jersey.

Since 2016, de Gea had failed to save 22 penalties from open play, but Dean Henderson had saved eight.

Before the save Vs West Ham, de Gea had failed to save 41 penalties for Manchester United and Spain.
