Manchester United Ready To Offer Paul Pogba New £400,000-per-week Contract (Details)

Manchester United are ready to make Paul Pogba their highest-paid player with a new five-year contract, MySportDab reports.

According to The Athletic, United are offering Pogba a chance to earn £400,000 per week at the club with the new contract.

Pogba has only one year left on his current £290,000-a-week contract and United are ‘keen’ to extend his contract at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have a short period of time left before the transfer window closes.

However, the French midfielder has not yet accepted United’s latest offer, which will make him earn the highest amount at the club.

Pogba’s new contract will also raise his wages above United’s summer signings Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho.

Varane signed a long-term contract worth £340,000 and Sancho now earns £300,000.

United chiefs want Pogba to sign the new contract, which has four years, and the option for a fifth year until 2025.

They believe the raise on his £290,000-a-week wages will help protect his value and prevent him from leaving him for free next summer.

However, Pogba wants to take some time to look at his options this summer or consider a free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain next season.

PSG had been repeatedly linked with a bid for Pogba this summer, but Lionel Messi’s arrival at the Ligue 1 club stopped everything.

Now, PSG have offered Pogba a shocking £510,000-a-week wages if he joins them on a free transfer next summer.

Pogba was also linked with moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona this summer but their financial issues has made things difficult.

MySportDab understands that it is unlikely for Pogba to sign a new contract with Manchester United before the transfer window closes on August 31st.

Should United fail to sign him on a new day, Pogba would now leave Manchester United for the second time on a free transfer.

The first time Pogba left United on a free transfer was back in 2012, when he joined Juventus.

Despite the contract talks, Pogba started the new 2021-22 season with four assists in Manchester United’s 5-1 triumph win against Leeds.

Manchester United Highest-paid Players:

David De Gea – £375,000 per week

Raphael Varane – £340,000 per week

Jadon Sancho – £300,000 per week

Paul Pogba – £290,000 per week

Harry Maguire- £250,000 per week
