Inter Milan have now rejected Chelsea’s latest bid for Striker Romelu Lukaku, MySportDab reports.

Chelsea offered £88million plus Marcos Alonso to Inter Milan but Serie A club rejected the offer immediately.

Chelsea returned back to the Belgian international as Borussia Dortmund refuse to sell Erling Haaland.

Lukaku scored 24 goals for Inter Milan last season to they won the Serie A title.

Chelsea sold Lukaku to Everton in 2014, and rejected the chance to go back three years ago.

Three years ago, Lukaku joined Manchester United instead.

The 28-year old is highly rated by Coach Thomas Tuchel who wants a new player to lead his attack.

Since he joined Inter Milan in 2019 for £73m, Lukaku has scored 64 goals in 95 matches across all competitions.

Inter ended last season in need of cash by selling players due to their financial situation, caused by the pandemic.

Inter have already sold Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain for £51.3m and that has helped the financial situation at the club.

Lukaku is very happy at Inter and ready to help the club try to retain the title.

‘I got to relax, but I’ve worked to stay fit and be able to start well next season,’ Lukaku said last week.

‘We have only a few weeks left before the new campaign. We hope to do better than last year.

‘I’m very excited to be back. We hope to continue the way we’ve started and keep winning. All the players want to make your dreams come true.’

Chelsea are now in a difficult situation with the transfer window set to close on August 31.

Despite winning the Champions League, Chelsea finished in the top four last season, but lacked a prolific goalscorer.

Timo Werner struggled to perform in his first season with the club.

The Blues’ top scorer in the Premier league last season was Jorginho with seven goals.
