Aston Villa beat Chelsea 2-1 in the English Premier League last game but thanks to Tottenham the Blues managed to finish 4th on the table, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

A good first-half encounter when it comes to the number of opportunities for both teams going forward.

Chelsea was totally in control as they bossed the game creating numerous amounts of opportunities at the early stages of the match.

Aston Villa continued to ensure that they didn’t concede while they push forward causing so many problems for the Blues.

The home side finally took the lead in the 43rd minute of the game which saw Bertrand Traore ensured his strike beats Edouard Mendy to make it 1-0.

The first half of the encounter came to an end with Aston Villa 1-0 Chelsea with both teams heading for the break.

Second Half Report

The second half was more entertaining with more coming from the game which saw more opportunities.

Aston Villa doubled the lead against their opponent as Anwar El-Ghazi converted from the penalty spot to make it 2-0 in the 52nd minute.

Chelsea was poor as the game progressed with them unable to make all the ball possession count for them despite the opportunities.

Timo Werner scored for the Blues in the 60th minute but unfortunately, VAR ruled the goal out for offside.

Ben Chilwell was able to pull one goal back for the visitors in the 70th minute of the encounter with a nice build-up play which saw the scoreline turning 2-1.

The game progressed with Cesar Azpilicueta being shown a red card in the 89th minute after a harsh tackle saw his side being reduced to 10 man.

The encounter ended with Aston Villa 2-1 Chelsea as they finish with the home side winning and the Blues luckily making top four finish after Leicester City loss.
