EURO 2020: Sergio Ramos Dropped By Spain [Full Squad CONFIRMED]

Spain Captain Sergio Ramos has been dropped from the Euro 2020 squad by coach Luis Enrique, MySportDab reports.

Ramos is Spain’s eighth highest goal scorer and all-time appearance player with 180 caps.

During the Euro qualifying stage, He started nine of Spain’s 10 matches.

Ramos was the only player from the current team in the Qualifiers who was part of the squad that won Euro 2008.

But, he has suffered with injuries this season and played only 21 matches across all competitions for Real Madrid.

He underwent surgery in January and could only start two La Liga games in 2021.

“It was a tough decision but Ramos has not been able to compete very much recently,” Luis Enrique said in his final squad press conference.

“I wanted Ramos to be in the squad but I did not think it was a good idea because he has been unable to play in recent weeks.”

Spain have named only 24 players for the EURO 2020 tournament despite UEFA increasing the number to 26 players.

Manchester City centre back Aymeric Laporte has been called up to the national team after he switched from France to Spain as his country.

Another Manchester City player, Eric Garcia was also included despite only starting one Premier League match during the season.

Manchester United Goalkeeper David De Gea has also been called for the Euros.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta is also part of the Spain squad.

Goalkeeper: De Gea, Unai Simón, Robert Sánchez.

Defence: Gayá, Azpilicueta, Alba, Pau Torres, Llorente, Laporte, Eric García, Marcos Llorente.

Midfield: Thiago, Busquets, Rodri, Pedri, Koke, Fabián.

Attack: Olmo, Sarabia, Oyarzabal, Morata, Adama, Gerard, Ferran Torres.
