Manchester United summer signing Alex Telles has now revealed that he is enjoying the rivalry with Luke Shaw to play at left-back this season, MySportDab reports.
United signed the Brazilian from Porto last summer for a fee around £15million, which includes add-ons.
Telles has now impressed enough to become a regular in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team this season.
But, his arrival has helped rival Luke Shaw to improve significantly so far.
Shaw is now back in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, and enjoying the best-form of his football career.
He is now a contender for the Manchester United player of the season award.
However, Telles has now revealed that he is very happy for Shaw and added that United are getting the benefits from his improvements.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Telles said: “When you have so many high quality players in the team, then Manchester United will end up benefiting from the team.
“Since my transfer here, I’ve worked as hard as i can and tried to show that I deserve to play here.
“Yes, I’m very happy for Luke Shaw, who has progressed drastically this season. He trains well and he’s done very well in the matches.
“When your team is in a situation like this, the whole team will benefit from it.
“I believe that we both motivate each other and push ourselves to do more and help each other.
“That’s important throughout the team, no matter the positions we play.”
Manchester United resume to Premier League action on Sunday against Brighton.
