Paris Saint-Germain have now confirmed that Neymar Jr will miss their Champions League second leg match against Barcelona, MySportDab reports.

Neymar was also absent in the 4-1 win for the Ligue 1 champions at Camp Nou due to an adductor injury.

Last week, He returned to training alone but he’s not yet fully fit to play with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

Fans were hopeful that the 29-year-old would play in the second leg of the last-16 on Wednesday.

However, Paris Saint-Germain have now confirmed that they won’t take any risk with their star player.

So Neymar won’t play in the Champions League second leg tie against his former club Barcelona.

‘Neymar only resumed partial training last week with the squad and will continue to work on his recovery,’ a statement from PSG read.

‘A new update will be made available over the next few days.’

Neymar left Barcelona for PSG in a £198million world record transfer in 2017.

The Brazilian has not played football since his injury in a French Cup match against Caen on February 10.

Due to the injury, Neymar missed the chance to play at Camp Nou six days later, but his teammates made sure they secured the win.

However, Paris Saint-Germain will also be without their goalscorer Moise Kean for the match against Barcelona.

Kean is now in self isolation after he tested positive for coronavirus.

Left-back Juan Bernat will also miss the match due to his rehabilitation and his personal recovery from a bad ligament rupture injury.
