Manchester United are working on plans to try and sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona this summer, MySportDab reports.

Dembele was close to joining Manchester United last summer but the transfer did not work out.

The Red Devils were interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, but the demands from the Bundesliga club are outrageous.

On Sunday, Ousmane Dembele sent a clear message to people at Manchester United after his classic goal for France in the World Cup Qualifier match.

Barcelona winger Dembele scored in the opening 20 minutes as Didier Deschamps’ completed a 2-0 win in Kazakhstan.

Dembele scored the goal from just outside the area, but it was his link-up play that caught the eye of Manchester United fans.

The 23-year-old got the ball thanks to brilliant work by Manchester United players Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial, for Dembele to score.

Dembele has impressed at Barcelona this season with fewer injury issues compared to the last few years in Spain.

According to Spanish Newspaper Sport, Manchester United have remained in close contact with Dembele’s representatives despite a failed transfer last summer.

Now, the Red Devils are willing to submit a bid for Dembele to quit Barcelona this summer.

If the transfer fails again, United can wait until his contract expires at Barcelona and sign him on a free transfer.

But, Barcelona remain keen to extend Dembele’s contract so he can stay at the club.

Coach Ronald Koeman is ‘very satisfied’ with the winger and considers him a part of his plans for the future.

Making Dembele to sign a new contract is a priority target for new club president Joan Laporta.

However, Barcelona’s financial situation means they would have to sell him for a good price.

Dembele has the advantage in negotiations, with his salary demands high, despite Barcelona’s financial issues.
