German National Team Coach Joachim Low has now announced his decision to step down after the European Championships later this year, MySportDab reports.

Low has been the Coach of the German National Football Team for the past 15-years.

The 61-years-old has been the Germany Coach since 2006, after he got promoted from No 2 role when main manager Jurgen Klinsmann decided not to renew his contract.

Under Low, Germany have reached the key parts of major international tournaments and won the World Cup in Brazil back in 2014.

After his official announcement on Tuesday, Low revealed that he will always look back on his time in charge with pride.

He remains ‘motivated’ and focused on ensuring Germany’s success at the Euros.

‘I have taken this step to step down consciously, full of pride and gratitude, but i will continue to be motivated for the upcoming European Championship,’ he said.

‘I’m proud, because it’s special and an honor for me to work for my country. I have worked with the best footballers in the country for almost 17 years now and supported them in their development.

‘I have had great triumphs with them and also the painful defeats, but many wonderful and magical moments, not only winning the Brazil 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

‘I remain grateful to the DFB, which has always provided us the best work environment.’

Low has taken Germany to third-place finishes at the World Cup, but they failed to get past the group stages in 2018.

Under Low, Germany reached two European Championships semi-finals and came close to winning the Championship in 2008.

In 2017, Germany won the Confederations Cup with Low in Charge.

His exit as Germany manager will now raise further questions about Jurgen Klopp’s future at Liverpool.

According to reports in Germany, The DFB want Klopp as their first-choice replacement for Joachim Low.

Klopp has a contract at Liverpool until 2024, but endured a tough season so far with a poor run of form in recent weeks.
