Football Pundit Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Kylian Mbappe will surely replace Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in world football, MySportDab reports.

The Frenchman was very important for PSG as they came from behind to secure an emphatic win in the first leg of their last 16 tie vs Barcelona.

He first cancelled out Lionel Messi’s early penalty to make it 1-1 after 32nd minutes.

He then made it 2-1 around the 60th minute to give PSG a deserving lead in the second half.

Mbappe completed his hat-trick in the 85th minute after Moise Kean scored to make it 3-1.

However, Rio Ferdinand believes Mbappe has shown that he is the man for the big games.

‘Mbappe is by far too good, amongst all young players he’s on his own,’ Ferdinand told BT Sport.

‘People don’t remember that he’s only 22-years-old Mbappe, because he’s won the World Cup, the French league, and in the Champions League he’s been fantastic.

‘I just feel that he’s the guy that will become the next world’s best and take the throne from Messi and Ronaldo.

‘Right now, he’s standing up there alone. It’s left for other young players to catch up to him now. This guy is already has the throne in his pocket.

‘This is his statement to world football, this is me, I’m your player for the big games.’

Kylian Mbappe has only one year left on his PSG contract and remains linked with a summer transfer to Real Madrid.
