Lionel Messi was on target twice as Barcelona edged out Elche at home 3-0 in their Laliga Santander outstanding game, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It wasn’t a nice first half encounter between the two sides who couldn’t find the back of the net despite the chances created.
Elche did well enough to make sure they made things difficult for the home side who created so many opportunities which were dealt with easily.
Barcelona dominated the half but their finishing wasn’t good enough to hand them something as the game progressed.
The first half of the encounter ended with Barcelona 0-0 Elche as both teams settled for a goalless scoreline at the break.
Second Half Report
The second half was totally different as Barca had to improve their game which also some good display of attacking.
Barcelona made it 1-0 in the 48th minute after a lovely team effort which saw Lionel Messi finishing off with a stunner to give his side the lead.
Elche were caught napping as The Argentine forward scored his brace in the 69th minute to make it 2-0 with the assist coming from De Jong.
Jordi Alba got his name on the scoresheet in the 73rd minute as the match ended with Barcelona 3-0 Elche which sees them maintain their third position on the table.
