Wolves Striker Raul Jimenez has confirmed that Manchester United and Juventus tried to sign him during the summer transfer window, MySportDab reports.

The Mexican has been linked with a transfer to Manchester United for months now, thanks to his immediate impact at Wolves.

The rumours started a few months ago when Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to sign a striker for more firepower.

As the transfer window was close to its end, it appeared clear that a transfer would not happen.

United then decided to sign free agent Edinson Cavani on deadline day.

Now, speaking about the summer, Jimenez has admitted that United and Juventus asked made enquiries for him.

Speaking to TUDN, Jimenez said: ‘One day I woke up and Juventus made offers, another day, Manchester United came up.

‘What I know is that they made an approach.

‘But an agreement was never close and nothing was agreed. I’m happy here at Wolves.’

Jimenez added: ‘The truth is that I am happy here at Wolverhampton. It’s not wrong to be in a place where you are feel well but they know that I can do better with my form, I always look to score more.’

Despite his love for Wolves, Jimenez refused to rule out a transfer in the future.

He added: ‘It failed to happen this time. If it happens then it will have to be best for me, for Wolves and the club that I join.

‘But I am delighted at Wolves and as a very important player.’

Raul Jimenez signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract with Wolves in October.

He has scored four Premier league goals in eight matches so far this season.
