Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford was forced to withdraw from the England national team squad due to a shoulder injury, MySportDab reports.

The injury happened in the 3-1 win at Everton last weekend.

England confirmed the decision early this morning, and Conor Coady is also unavailable for matches against Belgium and Iceland.

Coady came in contact with somebody who has now tested positive for COVID-19.

On Wednesday, Manchester United had confirmed that Rashford would join up with the England squad despite the injury fears.

However, Rashford faced further assessment on his shoulder injury from Goodison Park.

Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed after the match on Merseyside that Rashford had picked up an injury in the closing stages of the match.

However, he was still allowed to travel back to Burton Upon Trent ahead of England’s friendly yesterday against the Republic of Ireland.

On Friday, England have now confirmed that Rashford and Coady will miss their two upcoming Nations League matches.

Rashford responded to the England tweet, and wrote: “I’ll be back soon, Good luck boys.”

Rashford must now work hard to prove his fitness when United resume Premier League action on November 21 against West Brom.
