Manchester United now need only a point to reach the next round of the Champions League, MySportDab reports.

Despite that, Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists their aim is to win the group.

United were put in a death group when the Champions League draw was completed, with RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain in Group H.

But they dealt with the threat of both clubs in their opening two group matches with impressive wins.

After that, they suffered a shocking defeat against Istanbul Basaksehir, making it very crucial to get a result against the Turkish club on Tuesday night.

And United started very well when Bruno Fernandes scored a fantastic half-volley from the edge of the box.

The midfielder then scored again with a simple touch after a mistake from the opposition goalkeeper.

Fernandes had the chance to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot, but handed the chance to Marcus Rashford.

The England man scored from the spot to give United a 3-0 lead.

United were not impressive in the second half and Istanbul Basaksehir started to get a foothold in the game.

Basaksehir scored a free-kick and started applying pressure.

But, that was ended when Mason Greenwood provided the assit for Daniel James to score his first goal of the season.

PSG’s win over Leipzig yesterday, leaves Manchester United three points clear at the top of the group with only a point needed from their final two matches to reach the next round.

But, Solskjaer wants his players to finish top of their group.

“We need only one point, but we want to be top of the group but we’ll do it one game at a time,” he said.

“I felt it in the first-half, you saw it straight up, the intent from the boys, they wanted to play.

“They loved it, it’s a Champions League night at Old Trafford, you expect them to have fun.

“We created great chances and scored nice goals.

“When you have a 3-0 lead and you take your foot off a little bit, you give them something to use and they enjoyed the second-half more.”
