Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has sparked some fears among fans after showing off his swollen ankle, MySportDab reports.

Van De Beek got his first Premier League start in United’s 3-2 win against Southampton and received some heavy challenges.

After the match, van de Beek shared a picture on Instagram which showed his swollen ankle and wrote: ‘Welcome to the Premier League’.

Manchester United were two goals down at half time after goals from Jan Bednarek and James Ward-Prowse put fans into worry mode.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s game plan changed as Bruno Fernandes got a goal back before substitute Edinson Cavani bagged his first Premier League brace.

Van de Beek has been patient for his chance since joining United as he was mostly used as a substitute.

The 23-year-old got his opportunity against Southampton and completed the fully 90 minutes as Solskjaer’s team secured a comeback victory that saw them move up the Premier League table.

So far, Van de Beek has played 13 matches for Manchester United across all competitions, and scored one goal and including one assist.
