Greenwood and Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden, are the main course of the latest England scandal after breaching Covid-19 rules while with the England national team.

The English FA are now investigating how they sneaked the two Icelandic girls into their team hotel.

Greenwood, who had a great breakthrough season at Old Trafford last campaign has now deleted his official Twitter page following the backlash over the incident.

Greenwood and Foden will now miss England’s  Nations League match against Denmark after being sent home on Monday.

Before the start of the new season, Mason Greenwood was given the No 11 jersey at Manchester United.

The United player has remained silent despite his lack of Twitter activity.

Meanwhile, Phil Foden has apologised for the incident on Monday evening.

In a Twitter post on Monday evening, Foden said: ‘About the story which emerged today on my actions in Iceland, I want to apologise.

‘I apologise to my England team mates, Gareth Southgate, my club, family, staff and supporters.

‘I am very young and still have a lot to learn, but I know the huge responsibility I have for being able to represent England and Manchester City  at this level.

‘I made a poor decision and my actions didn’t meet the standards required of me.

‘I breached COVID-19 rules put in place to protect me and my England colleagues. As a result, I will now miss the chance to play against Denmark with the squad and it hurts.’
