Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta has provided his opinion about Lionel Messi coming to the Premier League, MySportDab reports.

Lionel Messi has been linked Manchester United and Manchester United in the Premier league after his decision to quit Barcelona.

The 33-year-old has spent most of his football career at Barcelona.

The Argentine is Barcelona’s club record goalscorer with 627 goals in 718 matches and 247 assists.

But after the recent Champions League failure and ending the season without a trophy, Messi has decided to leave.

Arteta is a Barcelona fan but said he would love to see Messi play in the Premier League.

Despite knowing Arsenal can’t sign Messi, Arteta would still be delighted if Messi joins Manchester United or City.

MySportDab understands that both Manchester clubs are among the teams across Europe who could afford Messi and offer him Champions League football.

Arsenal Coach Arteta said: “He’s linked with every club. He has more clubs after him than any other player in football history.

“Since i was young, i have been a Barcelona fan so it’s quite sad to see in my opinion the best player in football leave the club.

“But, let’s see what happens and if he plays in the Premier League, we would all enjoy it.

“It’s not important if it’s against Arsenal. It’s great for football. If he does not come, we might play against in the Champions League.

“We all want the best footballers in the league. For me is it best to have the most competitive football league in the world.

“The Premier League had that. With Cristiano Ronaldo, I did play against him, it raises the level of every player and every club also.”

Manchester City are considered as the favourites to sign Lionel Messi, with Paris Saint-Germain also in contention.
