Borussia Dortmund Prepare Jadon Sancho New Contract, £3.5m Pay Rise Despite Man United Talks

Borussia Dortmund are prepared to offer Jadon Sancho a new contract with a massive pay rise should Manchester United fail to pay up, MySportDab reports.

Dortmund are ready to offer the English star a new two or three year contract if the Red Devils can’t match their £108m asking price.

United and Dortmund are in disagreement over the transfer fee for the England winger.

The Red Devils believe Dortmund’s asking price is unrealistic given the current financial situation.

According to German Newspaper Bild, Dortmund will tempt Sancho to stay at the Bundesliga club with a new improved deal on his current £190,000-a-week deal.

Bild claim that Sancho’s salary annually will be doubled from £5.4m to £9m should he sign a new deal at the Bundesliga club.

His current contract runs until June 30th, 2022.

However, the new wage is less than what Sancho would earn at Old Trafford, should he join them this summer.

Dortmund are known for using this tactic in transfer deals of important players before such as Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Borussia Dortmund won’t reduce their £108m value for one of their most important players especially after a brilliant season in the German Bundesliga.

Last season, Sancho scored 20 goals and provided 20 assists across all competitions.

But United have said that the price is too high due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and also told Dortmund they can walk away from negotiations.

Dortmund Pre-season Plans

Dortmund head to the Switzerland on the resort of Bad Ragaz for their pre-season training camp on Monday ahead of the new Bundesliga season.

BVB have a some pre-season matches prepared already before they face Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga new season.

They will play against Rheindorf Altach on Wednesday in Austria before another match against Austria Vienna on August 16.

Sancho remains Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s No 1 transfer target and he would make a statement signing after United qualified for the Champions League next season.

Is Jadon Sancho Worth £108m?
