Timo Werner has agreed to join Chelsea this summer, but what shirt number could he wear at the London club?, MySportDab reports.

Timo Werner will now join the Chelsea team this summer after they activated his £53million release clause.

The RB Leipzig man is expected to get a large salary per week at Stamford Bridge and will be part of Frank Lampard’s plans for the club.

This Season, Werner has already scored 31 goals, with 25 in 29 Bundesliga Matches.

Werner is expected to ease the goalscoring burden on Tammy Abraham, who is Chelsea’s current first choice man.

The 22-year-old has scored 15 goals in 34 games, but is likely to become second choice behind the German international.

Werner looked destined to join Liverpool, but the Reds have refused to pay his release clause.

With his release clause set to expire on June 15, Chelsea hijacked the deal and offered Werner a £180,000-a-week deal.

Timo Werner Shirt Number At Chelsea?

However, It remains unknown which number the Leipzig forward will get at Stamford Bridge, but there are options available.

Werner has worn the No 11 shirt since his move to Leipzig in 2016 and he could wear the same number again at Chelsea but it is currently occupied.

Pedro has worn NO.11 since 2016 but is expected to sign for AS Roma when his contract expires at the end of the season.

This would free up Werner’s favourite shirt and is likely to be chosen by Werner.

Tammy Abraham currently wears No 9 and won’t surrender it without a fight, while new signing Hakim Ziyech is expected to wear No 10 when Willian leave.

Several shirt numbers at Chelsea such as No 14, No 6 and No 16 are all available in the current squad, although they were previously assigned to Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater, and Kennedy.
