Manchester United are planning a shocking bid for Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling if their two-year Champions League ban is upheld, MySportDab reports.Â
Back in February, UEFA announced that Manchester City would be banned from all club competitions for the next two seasons after breaching of Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
However, the Premier League side will now appeal their ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport starting on Monday, June 8 over three days.
Should Manchester City lose their appeal and the ban is upheld, the Ethiad could lose some their star players, who will leave top play European football elsewhere.
Sterling is among the players listed to leave and is already linked with a transfer to Real Madrid this summer.
But, According to The Independent, Even though a transfer for Sterling to Old Trafford is unlikely, Manchester United are still monitoring the 25-year-old situation to see if he becomes available in the transfer market.
MySportDab understands that the England international has impressed Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but are aware that Real Madrid would likely be the player’s dream.
The Independent also claims Jesse Lingard’s time at the club is up and he would be allowed to leave the club this summer.
Meanwhile, United fans were delighted with good news on Monday after Odion Ighalo’s loan contract extension was confirmed until January 2021.
United agreed to pay a £6m fee to Shanghai Shenhua and will still pay around half of Ighalo’s £300,000-a-week wages.
The loan extension comes after long talks with the Chinese Club, who will now receive £10.5m in total for letting him stay at Old Trafford.
Manchester United do not have an obligation or option to buy the 30-year-old striker when his loan deal expires in January.
