Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will extend his contract at the club, MySportDab reports.

Aubameyang will stay if Arsenal show they value him and can deliver Champions League football.

The Gabon international is out of contract at the end of the next season and the Gunners can’t afford to let another player get into the final year of his contract.

Now, Arsenal will look to cash in on Aubameyang if he still refuses to sign a new contract.

However, Arteta feels Arsenal can help make the decision easy.

“We have had talks with Aubameyang, his family and his agent and I am very positive we can reach an agreement for all parties,” he said.

“It’s our responsibility to make him know that this is the right step forward in his career.

“He needs to be valued. He needs to feel that he belongs here and we want him here, and then he needs to believe that we can take this club forward.

“He will be a key player to do that and at the moment I’m happy with how he’s been performed for the club.

“I have a good relationship with him and we can talk face to face about a lot of things, and I’m sure he is very happy at the club.”
