English Premier League Clubs are now planning to play the 2020-21 season behind closed doors without fans, MySportDab reports.

While talks focused on ensure the health safety of players and staffs for the rest for the current season.

According to The Mirror, EPL clubs are now looking ahead of next season and start plans because the entire 2020-21 season could be played without fans.

UK Government officials have stated that sport events could be played in empty stadiums until a vaccine is developed to fight the coronavirus crisis.

MySportDab understands a vaccine could be developed by February of 2021, but even if the vaccine is developed faster, it might take a whole year for it to be distributed.

However, football could be affected for a very long time  as UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has warned that a vaccine against the virus may never actually be found.

Playing matches without fans in empty stadiums for a year or more could be very bad for many clubs in the English Premier League and the EFL who rely on ticket sales and matchday revenue more.

Broadcasting companies have also threatened to ask for a repay if matches are played behind closed doors as they believe match coverage will not be fun.

MySportDab can confirm that across the 91 Football League clubs the approximate income lost would be over £1Billion.

Clubs below the Premier League like who rely more on the income from fans attending matches are most at risk as they still have to pay players wages, bonuses and staffs while getting no ticket revenue.
