‘I’m focused on this season and will see what happens at the end.

‘I am grateful to Leverkusen and I don’t want to mess that up for any reason.’

Kai Havertz scored his second brace in two Bundesliga matches as Leverkusen continue their impressive restart to football after the coronavirus pandemic.

Leverkusen moved into third place in the table, but could drop back down to fourth after RB Leipzig’s game against Mainz on Sunday.

Havertz also revealed that Bayern Leverkusen deserved to win against Champions League rivals Monchengladbach.
