Chelsea star Willian is now in talks with rivals Liverpool about a possible transfer, MySportDab reports.
According to Spanish publication Sport, due to Chelsea’s interest in Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho, Willian could leave the club and for another top six club.
MySportDab understands Willian is now ‘in negotiations’ over a transfer to Liverpool after his contract expires at Stamford Bridge on June 30.
Negotiations with Liverpool are going fine for the 31-year-old as he wants a better contract once he becomes a free agent.
Willian is very happy in England and wants to play his football in the Premier League, with other top six clubs likely to show interest once his contract expires.
He signed for Chelsea in 2013 from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala and has played over 300 matches for the club.
Liverpool have more attacking options in Willian’s position but Jurgen Klopp wants more reinforcements ahead of next season for their title defence.
Willian is now in Brazil with his family due to the coronavirus lockdown measures.
He is most certainly going to leave Chelsea after talks of a new contract have failed to progress over the past few months.
Premier League clubs have already shown interest in Willian and with Chelsea’s plan to sign Philippe Coutinho will surely lead to his exit.
Willian has scored seven goals and provided six assists so far this season, including a brace against rivals Tottenham.
The Brazilian winger has won the FA Cup, Europa League, two Premier League titles and a League Cup with the London club.
