Arsenal have now submitted a bid of £43.5m for Atletico Madrid Star Thomas Partey, MySportDab reports.
The Ghanaian midfielder is now a key player for Coach Diego Simeone this season and played 35 matches across all competitions helping Atletico reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
However, According to Corriere dello Sport, Mikel Arteta’s club have launched a £43.5m Bid and Atletico are yet to respond.
Corriere Dello Sport also claim that Partey is ‘one step away’ from moving to Arsenal.
Coach Mikel Arteta is desperate to rebuild his Arsenal squad after being appointed as manager in December following a difficult season.
The Gunners currently sit in ninth position om the Premier League table, winning just nine games from 28 and Arteta is seeking new players to compete in the top four.
MySportDab understands Arteta wants the club to sign a defensive midfielder to help protect Arsenal’s leaky defence, with Lucas Torreira and others struggling to get a regular starting spot.
However, Partey still has three years left on his Atletico Madrid contract and the La Liga club are looking to tie him down to a new contract.
Atletico to reward Partey for his impressive performances with a massivs pay rise and tie him down again until 2025, and also inserting a much bigger release clause.
