Nigerian Star Mikel Obi Demands Turkish Season Be Cancelled Over Coronavirus Outbreak

Nigerian Footballer John Mikel Obi has demanded for the Turkish League be suspended or cancelled amid the CoronaVirus Outbreak, MySportDab reports. 

Mikel Obi reveals he does not feel comfortable playing football amid the ongoing virus pandemic and has urged authorities in Turkey to cancel the season.

Top football leagues across Europe and around the world have been postponed amid growing concerns regarding the spread of Coronavirus.

However, The Turkish Super Lig is still being played with games scheduled to take place this weekend.

MySportDab understands Mikel’s club Trabzonspor play Istanbul Basaksehir next on Sunday.

The 32-year-old admitted he feels uncomfortable at being forced to play football against his will.

He wrote on social media: “There is more than football in life.

“I don’t feel comfortable and do not wish to play football in this situation.

“Everyone should be at home with their families and loved ones in this tough time.

“The Season should be cancelled as the world is facing such difficulty times.”
