Horse racing is a sport that continues to grow steadily all around the world. With steady evolution and steady popularity increase, horse racing has seen several wins, both expected and shocking.


In finding some of horse racing’s biggest successes, we encountered the toughest horse race, The Grand National.
This is a horse race in which horses and riders are tested with different obstacles and routes.
This article puts together five of the biggest horse racing winners around the globe, and what made their wins stand out from the masses.
1. Equinoctial
1990 was the year the Equinoctial stunned the whole world. He was adjudged the very best horse in the whole of the UK, which was extremely surprising because many horses in the race were considered stronger and faster.
This UK-based horse, with rigorous and consistent training, went ahead to win the Kelso horse race, another competition he wasn’t expected to conquer.
Equinoctial is ridden by a 7lb claimer and has been on a winning streak for five years, completing a race once and failing once.
2. Dandy Flame
Dandy Flame is the second-biggest winner in the horse racing universe. According to the horse’s trainer, Dandy Flame is a horse with a lot of speed and strength, making him the best candidate for many horse race courses.
Before his fantastic win, The Dandy Flame was a horse who finished almost last on his debut race. All the memories of his embarrassing loss were written off instantly; he shocked the universe with recorded a surprising win at Wolverhampton shortly after.
3.Mon Mome
Mon Mome is another globally recognized horse whose fame has spread throughout the UK. Mon Mome has taken part in over 100 races and won more than half of them without much effort.
Venetia Williams states that training this horse has been one of the most fulfilling things in her career, considering his incredible performance, distance capacity, and impressive resilience. Mon Mome was one of the underdogs after his debut; thus, no one expected him to be one of the highest-priced stallions in the world.
4.Norton’s Coin
It was during the Cheltenham races Gold Cup, where the whole world watched, mouths gaping and eyes wide as Norton’s Coin galloped to victory. The win was spurred on by his trainer at the time, who saw the horse’s potential from their very first training sessions.
At that time, Sirrell Griffiths considered the training of horses as a side job, which was done more out of passion than for money. Norton’s Coin was the one horse who Sirrell that all horses could be winners despite their background.
5.Theodore
Since 1822, there hasn’t been any other winner like Theodore. This incredible horse is one of four great stallions under a world-famous horse trainer, known to train world-class winners.
Amongst the four horses, Theodore was the least fancied, and the one stud who wasn’t considered to get far in any horse racing competition. Flat races are Theodore’s forte, and he has been the champion of this circuit up until 2002.
