Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that midfielder Paul Pogba will not leave the club in the current January transfer window, MySportDab reports.
Pogba has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford since 2019, after he expressed his desire for a new challenge before the start of the current season.
The France international was touted with a move to Real Madrid, but Solskjaer convinced the midfielder to not leave Manchester for the start of the 2019-20 season.
Unfortunately, Pogba has barely made any contributions to United’s season far, having struggled with various injury problems.
MySportDab understands the 26-year-old is unlikely to play again for another month, due to a surgery to improve his recovery.
Pogba missed United’s 0-0 draw against Wolves in their third-round FA Cup clash on Saturday evening at Molineux and Solskjaer was forced to give answers to questions Pogba’s future yet again in post-match.
When asked if Pogba has any chance of leaving Old Trafford this January, the Norwegian gave a blunt and straightforward answer: “You won’t see Pogba go this January.”
The Red Devils are said to be interested in signing new players to their squad this month, with a number of top targets being linked already.
But Manchester United must now prepare for a huge clash against Manchester rivals Manchester City in a Carabao Cup match on Tuesday.
City are keen to retain the trophy they won last year and will arrive at Old Trafford for the semi-final first-leg match.
