The Red Devils missed out on signing the Portuguese star in the summer but have started talks again. 

According to Portuguese Newspaper O Jogo, Manchester United have made fresh contact with Sporting over Bruno Fernandes.

Talks have just started and Portuguese club asking price of £59million could be a huge problem for United who have the funds but as we know won’t spend.

MySportDab understands the Red Devils will submit their first bid in the coming days as they look to improve their attacking options.

United are desperate for a creative attacking midfielder because Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard have struggled for form this season.

Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be supported in his plans to sign new players but it is not sure if Ed Woodward will be willing to pay £59m for Fernandes.

O Jogo add that Tottenham did to sign the Sporting midfielder during the summer but their bid failed because the full fee could not be paid at once.

Sporting Lisbon are known to be dealing with financial issues and could be forced into selling Fernandes this month.

Manchester United have struggled in the Premier League this season and look set to miss out on a Champions League spot.

The Red Devils have also been heavily linked with Leicester midfielder James Maddison and Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.

However, Maddison is unlikely to want to leave Leicester given they are currently second on the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, Eriksen is close to joining Inter Milan, where he  would a pre-agreement because he now has only six months left on his contract.
