Manchester United have been left frustrated by Sporting Lisbon in their bid to reach a transfer fee agreement for midfielder Bruno Fernandes, MySportDab reports.
The Red Devils are unhappy they are yet to agree a transfer fee with the Portuguese club which means Bruno will play against Benfica on Friday evening.
According to Portuguese television channel TVI 24, there is a £13million disagreement between the two clubs over the worth of Bruno.
MySportDab understands United are ready to pay an initial £50million for Fernandes upfront with a further £15m in add-ons.
And the 25-year-old has already agreed personal terms on a five-year £150,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford.
United will also have the option to extend that contract by a further 12 months on the deal with Fernandes.
But talks have not progressed with Sporting president Frederico Varandas demanding closer to £70m for his prized asset.
The Portuguese club are trying to reduce their debts and know United have the money to pay even more for Fernandes.
According to MySportDab sources, Old Trafford chiefs have scheduled meeting for more talks with Sporting and are confident of completing a deal this January.
United are also fearful Fernandes could get injured in the match against Benfica today with the attacking playmaker set to feature.
That was confirmed on Thursday by Sporting Coach Silas in his pre-match press conference.
He said: “The only thing am sure about is that Bruno Fernandes will be present against Benfica.
“When we have such a great talent it is normal for many clubs to want him, but he will surely be there unless there’s a disaster.
“He is a fantastic player, the best and most valuable in this league.”
Manchester United play next on Sunday rivals Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League (4.30pm).
