Manchester United have reached the EFL Cup semi-finals after an impressive 3-0 win against Colchester United, MySportDab reports.
Marcus Rashford scored yet again which marked his fourth goal in five matches as United scored thrice in 10 minutes in the second half to reach the next round.
Rashford ran towards the penalty area and cut inside in stunning fashion before firing his shot past goalkeeper Dean Gerken.
It all started to crumble now for a Colchester team that had secured shocking wins against Palace and Tottenham both on penalties after scoreless draws in the previous rounds.
This is not the first time Coach Solskjaer’s team had struggled to break down defences who sit deep and pack the bus like Jose did but the non stop pressure paid off.
Just minutes later Mason Greenwood got the ball free at the right flank and tried to pass the ball to Rashford at the far post, but forced Jackson into scoring an own goal.
Five minutes after that, Rashford popped up at the far post this time and rolled the ball back for Anthony Martial to give United a much deserved 3-0 lead.
The scoreline felt pretty harsh on a Colchester side that had impressed against top Premier League teams this season in the Competition.
