Carlos Baleba is edging closer to a move to Manchester United this summer as talks enter advance stage with Brighton and Hove Albion as of today.
The link has been there for a very long time with Manchester United pushing with everything, while Brighton and Hove Albion were reluctant on allow a move happen.
However, the situation looks a bit different today as both clubs are back in negotiation to see if they can reach an agreement to allow a move for the midfielder.
United recently signed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos who both made their debut for the club during their preseason friendly preparations.
Michael Carrick did confirmed the club was not done signing midfielders as they intend to go into the market for more signings in the position.
Carlos Baleba was recently linked with a move which ended up not working out, but things are looking good now with talks ongoing.
According to Fabrizio Romano he confirmed the latest update about the talks saying: “Manchester United are set to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton as new midfielder.
“Official bid over €70m plus €6m add-ons sent to Brighton, as per David Ornstein.
“No club to club agreement yet but Manchester United to send new bid.
He added saying: “Carlos Baleba made clear to his camp his only dream since August 2025 is Manchester United.
“Baleba agreed personal terms with Manchester United one year ago but Brighton closed the doors; now negotiations at final stages.
“The agreement player-United remains valid: he only wants United. Baleba, pushing since August 2025 to join United.”
The Cameroon international has already given the greenlight and wants to make sure a move happens by any means before the transfer window comes to an end.
Manchester United and Carlos Baleba might happen depending on the outcome of the bid sent and what both clubs decide on after the player gave the go ahead.
