Alexander Isak scored a stunner, which powered Liverpool to a 3-1 victory at Anfield Stadium against Crystal Palace as they jumped into fourth position on the League table.

The Premier League Champions grabbed the important victory, which further cemented their chances of playing elite football in Europe next season.

Arne Slot has been assured of staying on as Liverpool manager despite how the season has been for them, losing their chances of reclaiming the Premier League title.

The media talks were pushed aside as Liverpool commenced their match against Crystal Palace, which was a struggle from the early minutes of play.

Palace saw more of the ball as play carried on at Anfield Stadium after the first 10 minutes of action. Dominik Szoboszlai saw his attempt on goal being blocked by Tyrick Mitchell in the 7th minute.

Chris Richards had a chance on goal in the 11th minute, but his header didn’t connect well to give his side the lead.

Daniel Munoz was cautioned in the 19th minute for a previous challenge on Andrew Robertson, which the referee allowed the play to carry on.

Brennan Johnson had an attempt in the 20th minute, but his lob went wide. Johnson committed a foul inside the penalty area against Mohamed Salah in the 23rd minute.

However, after a long check from VAR, the referee revoked the decision to give Liverpool a penalty, which did not go well with the home fans.

Dean Henderson was cautioned in the 32nd minute for time wasting. Alexander Isak scored with a volley in the 35th minute as the scoreline turned 1-0.

Alexis Mac Allister was credited with the assist. Meanwhile, VAR had to check the goal before it was given as the scoreline stayed 1-0.

Jean-Philippe Mateta had a glorious chance in the 39th minute, but Freddie Woodman denied him from leveling the scoreline.

Andrew Robertson scored through a left-footed strike to make it 2-0 in the 40th minute, with Curtis Jones getting the assist.

Freddie Woodman made an important save before the first half came to an end, with Liverpool holding a 2-0 lead against Crystal Palace.

Before the second half kicked off, Palace made a change which saw Tyrick Mitchell being replaced by Borna Sosa.

Sosa wasted no time in announcing himself with a strike in the 51st minute, which went off the target as play continued.

Mohamed Salah sustained an injury, which saw him being replaced by Jeremie Frimpong in the 59th minute of the match.

Freddie Woodman made a save before Daniel Munoz scored in the 71st, which made the scoreline 2-1. Woodman received some treatment after the goal before he was able to carry on.

Yeremy Pino struck in the 77th minute from outside the box, but it wasn’t good enough to cause any danger.

Adam Wharton hit the woodwork in the 84th minute before Joergen Strand Larsen failed to make the follow-up count from a good position.

The referee gave Dominik Szoboszlai a yellow card in the 90th minute after kicking the ball away from play.

Alexis Mac Allister delivered a wonderful assist, which saw Florian Writz scored a beauty to make the scoreline 3-1 in the 6th minute of additional time.

Liverpool finished the match with a 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace as they claimed an important three points to further push their chances of top four finish.

This victory gives Arne Slot and his players the important boost they need to further cement their position for Champions League football next season.

For Crystal Palace, the game had little or no impact on their season as they remain safe from relegation and far from European football.

After the game, Arne Slot had a lot to say concerning the goals they conceded, which he believed they did not deserve to concede.

Slot said: “It was a lot more nervy because of the goal. I don’t think we deserved to concede it in that fashion.

“Palace were much more in the game than the 2-0 showed. Is there a game we play where there isn’t talk point about the referee?

Liverpool will turn their attention to Manchester United, which is another important Premier League game that could decide a lot for the current season.

The Premier League Champions did put on a show in their 3-1 win against Crystal Palace, with 3rd choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman making a huge difference.
