Alexander Isak has reportedly asked to leave Newcastle United as Liverpool intensify moves to sign him this summer, MySportDab reports.

Liverpool have been on the trail of the Swedish forward to complete their reinforcement of key departments for next summer.

They have poached high-profile names to bolster their midfield and defense ranks and are now hopeful of adding the Newcastle sensation to their attacking lineup.

We reported earlier that the Premier League champions are ready to deal with Newcastle United on a record British offer of £125m.

However, it is understood Newcastle aren’t unmoved in their no-sale decision as they consider player key to their squad.

They also have advantage in the seething transfer war as the Sweden international has three years left on his deal.

However, the table could likely turn against them in the niggling transfer battle between with the Reds. According to close sources, Isak is ready to force a move to Liverpool against the wishes of the Newcastle hierarchy.

He has reportedly asked to leave the club after the Reds’ approached the club with a record £120m offer.

It is understood the former Real Sociedad forward had even agreed personal terms with Liverpool and considers a switch to the Merseyside a key milestone in his career.

However, he is likely to be engulfed in a deeper struggle with Newcastle United who are showing no signs of blinking in the saga.

Meanwhile, Liverpool reportedly turned attention to Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike while still keeping tabs on the player.

The next days in the summer transfer window promises more dramatic episodes in this unfolding saga.
