Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were both on target as Inter Miami thrashed Sporting Kansas City 3-1 in the Champions Cup round one, MySportDab reports.
Inter Miami secured a decisive 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup’s first round, held at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
The win advanced Inter Miami to the round of 16 with a 4-1 aggregate score, setting up a matchup against Jamaica’s Cavalier FC on March 6.

The match commenced with high intensity, and in the 19th minute, Lionel Messi showcased his exceptional skill.
Luis Suárez sent a pass in which Messi controlled the ball off his chest and delivered a precise shot into the bottom right corner, leaving goalkeeper John Pulskamp with no chance.
As the first half progressed, Inter Miami continued to press and made sure their opponent stood no chance at what was happening.
In the 45th minute, Messi initiated a play with a well-placed ball to Jordi Alba, who then crossed to Tadeo Allende.
Allende capitalized on the opportunity, extending the lead to 2-0 just before halftime for his side who were dominant.
Shortly after, in the 47th minute, a defensive error by Sporting Kansas City’s Jake Davis allowed Luis Suárez to intercept the ball.
Suárez maneuvered past the defense and slotted the ball past Pulskamp, bringing the score to 3-0 as they carried on.
Sporting Kansas City sought to mount a comeback in the second half which was already late for them to do more damage.
Their efforts were rewarded in the 63rd minute when Memo Rodríguez found the back of the net, narrowing the deficit to 3-1.
Despite creating additional chances, Kansas City was unable to further penetrate Inter Miami’s defense.
Inter Miami’s head coach, Javier Mascherano, praised his team’s performance, highlighting their composure and efficiency in front of goal.
