Arsenal thrashed Manchester City 3-0 to lift the Community Shield Title 2026 which saw new signing Christos Tzolis making two assists and causing problems for Enzo Maresca’s side.

The encounter was a one sided master class from Mikel Arteta who proved to be the better of both managers who once worked under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.

Arsenal showed up immediately after the kickoff as Lewis-Skelly setup Calafiori who converted neatly under 23 seconds to make the scoreline 1-0 as they continued play.

The opening goal happened in quick flash for Manchester City who saw their whole setup being torn to pieces with just one quick play in attack which left them chasing the match.

It was expected for the City side to push with more from their end knowing they quality they had on the pitch. However, it wasn’t easy for them to do much as their opponent came prepared.

The game quickly turned into a nightmare for Enzo Maresca as Kai Havertz doubled the advantage through a wonderful finish which made it 2-0. Christos Tzolis was the orchestrator who made sure his delivery was perfect in the 28th minute.

As the game pushed on, the Blue side of Manchester were able to get a grip of things. The goals stopped as it was just opportunities flying in and out from both ends of the pitch.

The first half of the Community Shield 2026 came to an end with a 2-0 lead for Mikel Arteta and his players who proved to be to hot to handle by their opposition.

It was clear in the eyes of Enzo Maresca that his first official game of the 2026/2027 season won’t be going the way he expected it as they came on for the season half.

Arsenal kept up with the pace and ensured they never lost control of play while pushing to see if they could get more goals in the encounter. The opportunities did not stop as some changes were made in the match.

The Manchester City side were left behind chasing and hoping they could get something that would bring them back in the fold while it was still 2-0 scoreline.

Christos Tzolis found another breakthrough which saw him delivered a lovely assist that saw Martin Odegaard converted in the 48th minute. It was becoming disgraceful at 3-0 for Enzo Maresca.

All panic buttons was set loosed as the City team had no choice but to fully go all in with another plan. Everything that was done failed to yield any tangible results as the match progressed.

Despite all the changes and adjustments made, the Gunners locked up all shops as there was no holes or breathing space that would allow their opponent break them down.

Arsenal ended up claiming a comfortable 3-0 victory against Manchester City to win the English Community Shield 2026 title. It was a well deserved victory for the London club who won the Premier League last season.

The Gunners continued where they left off from the previous season. Mikel Arteta put out a good game plan which isolated Erling Haaland and others from doing anything much all through the game.

Following the conclusion of the match, there will be a heavy debate on what would happen to City under Maresca era. This result won’t be one the fans or club would take so easy knowing what they have in their squad.

It isn’t looking good for the well decorated Citizens whom enjoyed massive success under Pep Guardiola before he decided to leave the club following the conclusion of the 2026/2027 season.

Arsenal already showing what they have installed for the new season after blowing Manchester City apart in the Community Shield encounter. All eyes will turn to the Premier League games which comes up next for all teams.
