Robert Lewandowski officially announced his departure from FC Barcelona after spending four years since making the decision to leave Bayern Munich.

The veteran Polish striker, who has been the spearhead of the Blaugrana attack for four seasons, took to social media to confirm that he will leave the club at the end of his current contract this summer.

In an emotional post on social media, Lewandowski reflected on a journey that began in 2022 when he arrived from Bayern Munich for €45 million. Now 37, the forward expressed a deep sense of fulfillment.

Lewandowski said: “After four years full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on.

“I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. 4 seasons, 3 championships.

“I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days. Catalonia is my place on earth.

“Thank you to everyone I met along the way during these beautiful four years.

“A special thank you to President Laporta for giving me the chance to live the most incredible chapter of my career.

“Barça is back where it belongs. Visca el Barça. Visca Catalunya.

His tenure in Catalonia was nothing short of transformative. Arriving at a time when the club was struggling both financially and competitively, he provided the clinical edge needed to restore Barcelona to the pinnacle of Spanish football.

Even in his final season, Lewandowski remained vital. Despite rotating the No. 9 role with Ferran Torres, he netted 18 goals across all competitions, helping Barcelona secure both the La Liga title and the Spanish Supercopa.

While his time in Spain is ending, Lewandowski’s career is far from over. Speculation regarding his next destination is already reaching a fever pitch.

Barcelona fans will have one final opportunity to bid farewell to their Pichichi winner on Sunday, May 17, when the team faces Real Betis at the Spotify Camp Nou for the final home match of the season.

The game on Sunday could be Robert Lewandowski final match for Barcelona as he is expected to continue his career in a new environment outside Spain.
