Atletico Madrid Trolls Barcelona’s Alvarez Bid with Hilarious Lamine Yamal Swap Deal

Atletico Madrid took to social media to troll Barcelona after an attempt from them to sign Julian Alvarez for €100 million.

As speculation regarding Barcelona’s pursuit of striker Julián Álvarez reaches a fever pitch, Atlético has opted to abandon standard diplomatic channels in favor of internet-level mockery.

The tension began when reports emerged suggesting Barcelona was preparing a formal €100 million bid for the Argentine star.

Faced with consistent outside noise and persistent rumors of a move, Atlético Madrid who have maintained for weeks that their striker is not for sale, decided to hit back.

In a viral post on their official X accountofficial X account this afternoon, the club leveraged the language of modern transfer journalism to troll their rivals.

Mimicking the famous “HERE WE GO!” catchphrase used by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the club posted a doctored image of Barcelona’s teenage sensation, Lamine Yamal, wearing an Atlético Madrid kit.

The accompanying text, presented as a mock-official fax sent to the Blaugrana offices, detailed an offer for the youngster that was as farcical as it was stinging: “4 tickets for tomorrow’s Bad Bunny concert, an annual subscription to ABC, and a bag of sunflower seeds.”

The post concluded with a mocking: “We eagerly await the response to prepare the ‘announce’.

The joke didn’t stop there. In a follow-up, the club jokingly claimed that due to high demand, they had run out of concert tickets, offering to sweeten the deal for Barcelona’s Pedri instead by offering tickets for a Sunday event.

This public display of irony is the latest in a series of firm denials from the Metropolitano. Club officials have expressed mounting frustration over what they label as a pre-arranged campaign of harassment and “months of lies” regarding Álvarez’s future.

By publicly ridiculing the idea of a swap deal and explicitly targeting the one player Barcelona holds most dear, Atlético is sending a clear message to the footballing world.

The club is not just refusing to sell, they are finished with the narrative that they can be leveraged into a negotiation.

While Barcelona continues to search for a successor to Robert Lewandowski, Atlético has effectively drawn a line in the sand.

For now, the transfer saga has shifted from a professional negotiation to a public spectacle, with the sunflower seed bid destined to go down as one of the most memorable in recent La Liga history.

Barcelona has not responded to any of Atletico Madrid’s tweet, but there are reports of them already working on an improved offer to sign Julian Alvarez.
