Arsenal Wins Premier League Title After 22 Years

Arsenal have been confirmed champions of the 2025-26 Premier League, ending the club’s 22 years wait for the English Championship.

Interestingly, the 2025-26 Premier League title race initially looked poised to go down the wires, dragging till the final matchday of the campaign after Arsenal gave up a commanding nine-point lead at the top, allowing perennial champions Man City catch-up in the run-in.

From a gaping nine-point lead in late January to just a three-point advantage as of May 13, the narrative was already shifting for a Gunners’ side that was known for chickening out in the title race in the run-in.

However, they were determined to hold this time. While City breath down their neck with an impressive winning streak in the final stretch, the Londoners held their nerves to stay top, grinding out narrow wins against West Ham and Burnley to keep hopes alive

And then came the decisive moment at the Vitality Stadium last night when Bournemouth did justice to the two title-chasing sides by also forcing City to drop points with a a dramatic 1–1 draw.  Recall the Cherries also stunned Arsenal earlier in the run-in, winning 2–1 at the Emirates in a clash that nearly toperdoed the Gunners’ title charge.

Last night result means Arsenal head into the 2025-26 Premier League final matchday on Sunday with a four-point cushion at the top, effectively bringing the feisty Premier League title race to a close and confirming them as champions.
