Aaron Ramsey has officially announced his retirement from professional football, bringing an end to a distinguished career that spanned nearly two decades at the highest level of the game, MySportDab Reports.

The former Arsenal midfielder, who made 369 appearances for the North London side, confirmed his decision in an emotional statement shared on social media. The 35-year-old had been without a club since leaving Pumas UNAM last year, following a mutual termination of his contract.

“This has not been an easy decision to make,” Ramsey wrote. “After a lot of consideration, I have decided to retire from football.”

Ramsey began his tribute by reflecting on his international career with Wales national football team, where he earned 86 caps and scored 21 goals.

He paid special appreciation to the passionate Welsh supporters, widely known as the “Red Wall,” for their unwavering support throughout his journey.

“It has been my privilege to wear the Welsh shirt and experience so many incredible moments,” he said. “You have been there through thick and thin… it’s been an honour to represent you.”

At club level, Ramsey is best remembered for his time at Arsenal, where he spent 11 years between 2008 and 2019. During that period, he scored 64 goals and registered 57 assists, playing a crucial role in the club’s successes and becoming a fan favorite.

Following his departure from Arsenal, Ramsey joined Juventus, but struggled to replicate his Premier League form in Italy. He later had a loan spell with Rangers in 2022, followed by a stint at Nice in Ligue 1.

Ramsey eventually returned to his boyhood club, Cardiff City, where he also briefly took on a managerial role toward the end of the 2024–25 season.

In his farewell message, Ramsey expressed deep gratitude to his family, teammates, and coaches who supported him throughout his career.

His retirement marks the end of an era for Welsh football and closes the chapter on a player widely admired for his talent, leadership, and commitment to the game.
