Bam Adebayo delivered one of the greatest scoring performances in National Basketball Association history on Tuesday night, pouring in 83 points to lead the Miami Heat to a 150-129 victory over the Washington Wizards, MySportDab Reports.

The 28-year-old center produced the second-highest single-game scoring total in NBA history, surpassing the legendary Kobe Bryant, who scored 81 points in 2006. Only Wilt Chamberlain’s iconic 100-point game in 1962 remains ahead of Adebayo’s remarkable feat.

Adebayo set the tone early, erupting for 31 points in the first quarter to outscore the entire Wizards team, who managed 29 in the opening period. He maintained the relentless pace throughout the contest, reaching 43 points by halftime to set a new franchise record for most points in a half.

The dominant center continued his scoring spree in the third quarter, adding 19 more points to surpass the previous Miami single-game record of 61 points set by LeBron James in 2014. By the end of the third quarter, Adebayo had already racked up 62 points as Miami built a commanding lead.

He finished the night with an incredible stat line: 83 points on 20-of-43 shooting, including seven three-pointers, while converting a remarkable 36 of his 43 free-throw attempts.

His performance also set new NBA records for both free throws made and attempted in a single game, surpassing previous marks held by Chamberlain, Adrian Dantley, and Dwight Howard.

Adebayo also contributed nine rebounds, helping Miami secure its sixth consecutive victory and improve to 37-29 for the season.

Miami coach Erik Spoelstra described the performance as “surreal,” admitting he kept Adebayo on the court as the scoring milestones continued to fall.

The Heat achieved the victory despite missing several key players, including Tyler Herro, Norman Powell, and Andrew Wiggins through injury.

For Washington, rookie Alex Sarr led the scoring with 28 points, while Will Riley added 22. The Wizards, who were without Trae Young due to a knee issue, have now lost nine straight games.

Adebayo’s sensational performance will be remembered as one of the greatest individual nights in NBA history.
