Kylian Mbappe has waded into the racial row that has engulfed Real Madrid’s Champions League knockout round playoff first leg against Benfica last night, MySportDab reports.
We reported earlier that the match slip into chaos after intense moments featuring Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr, Benfica defender Gianluca Prestianni, and the Benfica fans.

After scoring his match-winning Golazo, Vini apparently incurred the wrath of the home fans who allegedly abused him verbally with racist remarks after he danced at the corner flag celebrating the goal.
Vini also alleged that Gianluca Prestianni hurled a racial slur at him as the latter was seen covering his mouth with his Benfica shirt and appearing to mumble some words.
The match was delayed for several minutes before being continued and, as expected, reactions have continued to trail the incident.
For Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr has the right to celebrate his goal anyhow he wants and cannot be told what to do
“Vini Jr should dance as much as he wants and never stop. No one can tell us what should we do or not do,” he said after the match.
Mbappe’s statement appears a direct affront to Jose Mourinho’s post-match remark on the incident that questioned why Vinicius Jr decided to celebrate his goal by dancing.
Mbappe also issued a strong statement on Prestianni, saying the player should not be allowed to play in the Champions League anymore.
“Gianluca Prestianni should NEVER play in Champions League anymore.”
At the time of filing this report, UEFA have yet to issue a statement on the incident with investigation expected to commenced immediately to bring erring parties in the outburst to book.
