Premier League club Chelsea are plotting a shock move for Man United legend and Al-Nassr sensation Cristiano Ronaldo, MySportDab reports.
Ronaldo’s future has dominated the headlines lately after he fell out with the Al-Nassr hierarchy for not strengthening the team this summer by signing new players.
He sat out for two matches in protest due to the hiccup but has returned to action and is already hitting the ground running leading the charge with elite-level performances as the team charge on for the Saudi Pro League title.
However, close sources have revealed that despite these upbeat recent performances by the Portuguese, his future at Al-Nassr is still enshrouded in uncertainty.
He has a year left on his current contract with the club, but could be forced to leave Saudi Arabia should his relationship with Al-Nassr hierarchy fail to improve.
Now, according to Football Insider, Chelsea are monitoring the Portuguese’s situation with Al-Nassr and could be forced into a surprise move for him in the summer.
The report adds the Blues aren’t overly focused on what Ronaldo could actually offer the club in terms of on-field performances, but banking on the potential commerical value of such a deal.
Ronaldo had a glorious double spell in the Premier League, playing for Manchester United in both occasions and successfully establishing himself as one of the greatest players in the Man United and Premier League history.
A move to Chelsea could see him return to the English elite division for the third time, but this time, in the colours of United’s arch-rivals.
