Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for December 2025, while Aston Villa boss Unai Emery collected the Manager of the Month honour after an outstanding festive run, MySportDab Report.
Calvert-Lewin’s award caps a remarkable turnaround for Leeds, who began December hovering in the relegation zone and under mounting pressure.
A tactical shift to a 3-5-2 system under Daniel Farke revitalised the Yorkshire side, with the England forward emerging as the focal point of their resurgence.

The 28-year-old scored six goals in five league appearances, finding the net in every match he played during the month.
His goals powered Leeds to impressive victories over Chelsea and Crystal Palace, while also earning valuable draws against Liverpool, Brentford and Sunderland. Calvert-Lewin’s consistency and leadership were central to Leeds climbing away from immediate danger.
It is his first Player of the Month award since September 2020 and a historic moment for the club, marking the first time a Leeds player has won the accolade since Rio Ferdinand in October 2001.
He beat competition from high-profile names including Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers.
Leeds narrowly missed out on a clean sweep, however, as Unai Emery was named December’s Manager of the Month. The Aston Villa boss oversaw a superb run of five wins from six league matches, including statement victories over Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

That run propelled Villa firmly into the Premier League title conversation and underlined Emery’s growing influence at Villa Park. His success came during a turbulent period for several rival clubs, further enhancing the Spaniard’s reputation for consistency and tactical clarity.
With Leeds showing signs of renewed belief and Villa emerging as genuine contenders, December proved a defining month at both ends of the Premier League table.
