Algeria claimed a 1-0 victory against DR Congo on extra time to book quarter final ticket for the AFCON 2025, MySportDab reports.
The Les Fennecs will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their quarterfinal clash coming up in few days time.
First Half Report
The match was a strong one which had little room for errors on both ends as they pushed and defend in numbers.
DR Congo came into the match knowing they stood an equal chance of getting something out of the encounter.
Meanwhile, for Algeria it wasn’t easy as Riyad Mahrez was given no room to operate knowing how dangerous it would have been.
No goal happened as both teams held themselves so well and stayed goalless before they headed for the break.
Second Half Report
The game resumed with more left to play between both teams who continued to push with everything they have to offer.
It was still no side bulging or slowing down anytime soon as they needed to qualify so badly against each other as the full time ended.
Extra Time Report
The match entered extra time which both teams kept on pushing until Adil Boulbina scored in the 119th minute with assist from Zerrouki.
Algeria ended up claiming a 1-0 victory against DR Congo which sees them setup a quarter final clash against Nigeria next.
