FIFA has made it clear with an ultimatum to clubs to release players who are expected to play at the upcoming AFCON, MySportDab reports.
The Football federation has made it clear of their intentions to give more support to Africa and it’s tournaments.
Ahead of the upcoming AFCON tournament in Morocco, FIFA has made their support known to clubs who might want to hold players back.

There has been some moments which clubs have objected in allowing players leave during AFCON tournament which usually takes place in January.
Some clubs and national teams have clashed a number of times over releasing players to represent their national team.
According to Fabrizio Romano, he confirmed the statement from FIFA concerning the AFCON tournament taking place this month.

“FIFA confirm clubs must release players for the AFCON by Monday, 15 December — as FIFA will mediate to resolve disputes.

This development is coming after years of issues with European clubs on allowing their player leave for the AFCON tournament.
FIFA is showing their support and letting it known that they will be taking actions against any club that fails to allow their player leave for the upcoming tournament in Morocco.
